Beta Privacy Policy
Effective September 1, 2026
This policy describes the information KlearTCG handles during its test-data beta. We do not sell personal information, run third-party behavioral advertising, or collect real payment and shipping information during this beta.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: identifiers and email information supplied through our authentication provider.
- Profile and collection information: username, profile fields, preferences, portfolio items, quantities, condition, grading details, cost basis, saved items, and visibility choices.
- Content you submit: profile media, listing media, feedback, optional screenshots, and test marketplace or social content.
- Scanner information: images and derived OCR, barcode, card-match, quality, and confidence results needed to perform a scan.
- Technical and support information: security and operational logs and, when you submit feedback, the current page plus basic browser, device, language, screen, and time-zone details shown in the feedback form.
2. How we use information
We use information to authenticate users; load, save, price, and organize collections; operate profiles and beta features; process scans; secure and troubleshoot the service; answer support requests; prevent abuse; and understand which beta features need repair. We may create aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not reasonably identify an individual.
3. Card scans and machine-learning consent
The scanner is designed to perform local processing first where the device supports it. Temporary scan media is processed only as needed to return results and is deleted after the scan workflow unless you separately enable scanner-training retention.
If you opt in and confirm a match, cropped card images and related labels may be stored privately in Cloudflare R2 and used to train or evaluate KlearTCG scanner systems. You can turn retention off in scanner or account settings; this stops new retention and deletes retained source images associated with your consent. Model improvements already learned from aggregated training may not be technically reversible.
4. Storage and service providers
KlearTCG uses service providers to operate the beta, including Clerk for authentication, Supabase for application databases and some legacy storage, and Cloudflare R2 for newer private photo and video storage. These providers process information for KlearTCG under their own security and contractual controls. Media buckets are intended to contain files; account, portfolio, consent, and card records remain in the application database.
5. When information is shared
We may disclose information:
- to providers that operate or secure the service for us;
- to other users when you intentionally publish a profile, listing, showcase, or other public content;
- when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or enforce our terms; or
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service, subject to appropriate notice and protections.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention, access, and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as needed to provide and secure the beta. Temporary import media and non-retained scans follow the deletion periods stated in those tools. You can change profile and privacy settings, export collection data, withdraw scanner-training consent, and request account deletion from Settings. Deletion may take time to propagate through backups, and limited records may be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or disputes.
To request access, correction, or deletion that is not available in Settings, use thecontact page. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you.
7. Cookies and browser signals
KlearTCG and its authentication provider use cookies or similar local storage needed for sign-in, security, saved preferences, and core service operation. We do not currently use third-party behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking. Because we do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, Global Privacy Control and “Do Not Track” signals do not change those practices.
8. Security and beta limitations
We use access controls, private media storage, signed links, and other safeguards intended to protect information. No service is completely secure. Because this is a beta, please do not submit unnecessary sensitive information or real payment, bank, billing, or shipping information.
9. Children
KlearTCG is not directed to children under 13, and they may not create accounts or submit personal information. If we learn that we collected information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian can contact us through the contact page.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as beta features and providers change. We will post a revised effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes before using information in a materially different way.
Privacy questions can be sent through the contact page.
